Since 2011 Empreza Diak has worked to economically empower over 5000 women and men across the country by researching, testing and implementing market based, sustainable opportunities to break this cycle of poverty, to contribute to Timor-Leste's democratic, inclusive and peaceful development. Empreza Diak has an innovative holistic approach to fighting poverty, working with vulnerable individuals and communities as partners instead of project beneficiaries. Are four main areas of action: - Women Economic Empowerment - Training and Outreach - Micro-businesses set-up and management - Community and Social Business Center "Sentru Atauro Diak" Empreza Diak registered as an NGO in 2011 with FONGTIL before the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) had the not-for profit registry process in place. In 2014 Empreza Diak registered with the MoJ as a Foundation.
