HIMRIGHTS carried out, took lead and participated in the following programs to work for the prevention of human trafficking in Nepal:

1. An orientation on the long term negative effects of child marriage/ early union was given to students, parents, teachers and other concerned stakeholders with major focus on marginalized children in Makwanpur district
2. Speech Competition was held in 4 different schools of Makwanpur district on the topic of child marriage and human trafficking. It helped them to prepare content and look into the issues in-depth. Similarly, their sharing helped other students to be aware about these issues.
3. Participation in the international consultation on ways to prevent human trafficking organized by GAATW, Bangkok
4. Participation in the 109^th International Women’ Day Rally
5. Discussion on the issues and challenges faced by migrant woman workers and their access to public services organized by GAATW
6. HIMRIGHTS alongside several organizations showed solidarity and pledged to work against gender based violence and abuse

HIMRIGHTS carried out following programs to work for the prevention of human trafficking in Nepal:

1. Dialogue with Media against Human Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) organized jointly by AATWIN and  Shakti Samuha in 20 December 2018, Kathmandu under the leadership of HIMRIGHTS

2. Submission of recommendations to National Planning Commission (NPC) to include the priority issues of Human Trafficking in coming 15th Periodic Plan of Nepal at Singha Durbar on 25 January 2019. A delegation of AATWIN lead by Chairperson, Ms. Anjana Shakya handed over the recommendations to members of the NPC, Hon. Min Bahadur Shahi and Hon. Dr. Usha Jha to address the priority issue of Human Trafficking in coming 15th Periodic Plan under the leadership of HIMRIGHTS. The Recommendations were collected in the consultation workshop participated by 58 participants representing various CSO.

3. Leading the quarterly meeting of AATWIN among network members led by Ms. Anjana Shakya, Chairperson, HIMRIGHTS

4. Training local youths of Manahari Rural Municipality, Makwanpur on human rights and against human rights violations and trafficking, Oct, 2019

5. Empowerment of youths: Bridging the gaps between local government stakeholders and youths through ward level dialogue to work for the prevention of human trafficking in Manahari Rural Municipality, Makwanpur, Jan 2019

6. Participation in GAATW strategic envisioning on the occasion of 25th Anniversarry, 24-25th Nov 2018

HIMRIGHTS is one of the founding members of Alliance Against Trafficking of Women and Children in Nepal (AATWIN), a network of 40 member organizations, established in 1997. Every 2 year, AATWIN is led by one of the member organization. HIMRIGHTS has been leading AATWIN for the last one year since August, 2017. Over one and half dozen activities has been conducted against human trafficking, unsafe migration and entertainment sector  during this period. Prevention and protection are the two key focus of our activities. Here are some of the glimpses of the major activities done by AATWIN in the leadership of HIMRIGHTS.
