Feminist Approach to Technology Society

Feminist Approach to Technology is a not-for-profit organization. It's mission is to empower women by enhancing women's awareness, interest and participation in technology. We work towards this by breaking societal stereotypes and attitudes, encouraging and enabling women to feel capable and comfortable in working with technology, and collaborating with other women's organizations to mainstream the issue of making technology women friendly.
STEM Education for All!

I am Kedar, an Indian American designer based in California. I have known FAT for 3 years as a past volunteer and supporter, and I am impressed by their work. I want to raise 1000 USD so that girls who otherwise do not get access to quality education can also study Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, make stuff and kindle their innovative minds. The funds I raise will help FAT support classes in the Lab using the curriculum they have developed for at least 3 months.
Jugaad (Innovation) Lab for Disadvantaged Girls

We seek to provide a much-needed space for young girls who come from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds to ignite their interest in STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics). A lab for girls to continue to spark their imagination and aid their intellectual growth and development; a place where they can tinker, build, break and rebuild stuff to learn through hands-on work and experimentation to enable them to develop a keen eye towards problems in their communities. project reportread updates from the field
Girl Leaders Fight Against Early & Forced Marriage

31 girls from urban poor communities in Delhi trained by us have made a film "Todo Bandishen", meaning "Break the Chains", representing adverse effects of early & forced marriage on their lives. They are now screening this film to build dialogue with their families and community members to discuss girls' rights, freedom of choice and right to live a life with dignity and good health. Through this film, there has been a notable impact on the campaigners themselves and other community members. project reportread updates from the field
Young Girls Fight Against Early & Forced Marriage

This project will help adolescent girls from socially and economically disadvantaged sections of society to use technology both as a tool and as a medium in helping them raise their voices and generate awareness on the issue of early and forced marriage (EFM). Girls associated with the Technical Center at Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT), a not-for-profit organization, would shoot and produce a film on EFM that would highlight their daily struggles in countering this social menace. project reportread updates from the field
