Barrio Itagui - Seedbeds

She came into the class with a big smile on her face, like always. The kids ran to greet her and she was happy to see them. Their teacher was already there and gave the order to start today's class and training.

Angie is only eleven years old and is part of the Santa Teresa Chorus since four years ago. Angie is a very committed and talent full kid and her teacher realised such thing since the first class she attended. Is because of her helpful attitude that she was chosen as a monitor for the Seedbed Choirs and as of today, the students respect her and follow her instructions.

With your support, young kids like Angie Juliana will be able to receive full training towards becoming choir directors and teachers. It is because of your constant support that we have identified a lot of talent in direction within our students.

Today we are proud to tell you that our young monitors are in charge of 600 students of ages between 8 and 14, whom are part of the seedbed choirs.

Coming up...

October 2017: Our young monitors will have the chance to train in choral direction with the prestigious Cuban Teacher Digna Guerra, who has earned several international prizes in choral direction.

Feel free to spread the VOICE and tell some of your friends about our beautiful project! You will feel happy! :)

New supporters, active children, music everywhere!

"Belonging to Sirenaica has made me a richer person in every aspect because I have acquired knowledge on working with children and thanks to that I am more passionate each day about the fact that I am filling life with music, and also the hearts of new members of our Sirenaica family" - Karyne Rios Valencia, Monitor

Spanish- Original Version

"Pertenecer a Sirenaica me ha convertido en una persona mas rica en todos los aspectos ,ya que he adquirido muchos conocimientos acerca del trabajo con los niños y es gracias a esto que día a día me apasiona mas llenar de música la vida y los corazones de los nuevos integrantes de la familia Sirenaica." - Karyne Rios Valencia, Monitora

We hope you are already missing us and excited about some news on our children an youth. We have been pretty active these past months, especially those choruses with longer TRAYECTORIA. We have held concerts in various places around the city such as el Parque de los Deseos ("Desires Park"), Pablo Tobón Uribe Cafe, Copacabana's Confama, and seldom schools.

Since May, 2016 we have been receiving some donations from America's Planned Giving, an entity from the USA that collects resources at Florida by means of faris, bazaars, raffles, auctions and donations. They will support us for 2 years. This new recurring donation will allow us to train more monitors thus letting them teach our beginner choirs.

Up to date, there are 450 children linked to our program, from 14 different cities, all of which is possible with our donors' cooperation and constant support.

Remember to spread the voice, and allow some new people to enroll with our cause. Karyne's testimony on how music has become her passion is just one of our many life stories. Day to day, vulnerable children's lives are being transformed and new horizons appear to replace their violent and tragic history through art and music.

Many lives could be changes, many hearts could be touched and many children could build a new future.

Have the greatest next month, full of music and joy.

Raise your voice!

Greeting, news, congrats, and more!

Our level one group
Our level one group

Greetings to our people,

This program has now several years of being founded and we still have a lot to go. Kids who entered at the ages of 7 or 8 are now aiming to become monitors, musicians and even chorus directors.

Hundreds of children's musical dreams have come true because of your help. This year, even though we had been a little less insistent with the international donations, we are needing your support.

With just one click you can share our webpage, our name, and even our new institutional video with English subtitles, and let someone else be touched by this beautiful initiative that has been changing lives throughout music and ar for many years now.

The pictures you are now admiring represent one of our Level One gruop that began this March.
Finally and with a lot of love, on behalf of Sirenaica Foundation, we congratulate all Mothers that work hard everyday for their children's education; we thank our donors for being "parents"  of our projects and ideas, but especially we want to thank you for making thousands of Colobian mothers PROUD OF THEIR CHILDREN AND YOUTH.
We invite you to read and share this article from the webpage Classicalfm.com with some classical music recommendations for mother's day and month.

Again, please share our video and enjoy it yourself and your family.
Spread the VOICE!!
With my best regards,
Elisa
