Chef Ann Foundation

The Mission of the Chef Ann Foundation (CAF) is to provide tools that enable all schools, parents, advocates, students, administrators, teachers and food service staff to progress from serving highly processed, unhealthy food to serving fresh, scratch-cooked food.
The Real School Food Project

Nearly one-third of children in the U.S. are obese, and another third are hungry. Children consume half - and often more - of their daily calories while at school. Schools are struggling to transition from highly-processed food products to scratch-cooked meals made from healthy, whole foods. This project will help Chef Ann Foundation provide the tools, training, resources and funding that enable schools nationwide to cook and serve real food that nourishes children's bodies, minds and futures.
The Lunch Box Expansion Project

Schools are struggling to transition from highly-processed food products to scratch-cooked meals made from healthy, whole foods. Ingredients for Healthy Schoolchildren

A hungry child walks up to the new salad bar at school and gasps when she sees a bin of ripe cherry tomatoes. She fills her plate with as many tomatoes as it can hold until the lunch lady assures her that the tomatoes will be here tomorrow. And the next day. What are the ingredients for a healthy child? Tomatoes may make the list, but Food Family Farming is thinking bigger. Help us make sure that every school food program in the country has all the ingredients they need for healthy kids. project reportread updates from the field
The School Food Fight is On!

School food has become a political battleground, but politicians are fighting for the wrong things. While Washington quibbles, we're waging a battle against childhood obesity, working to give schools tools they need to feed students healthier meals. When a child sits down to school lunch, she doesn't care what's happening in Washington. She only knows that the cherry tomato she just tasted is sweet when it pops and crunches in her mouth, and she'll be back for more. That's a fight worth backing. project reportread updates from the field

Tools to Connect Schools to Local Food

School districts are major institutional buyers of food in their communities. If we can shift their purchasing practices to focus on local and regional food, we can support and expand local, nutrient-rich food production AND provide healthier, fresh, whole foods to children. Please help F3 build free, online tools to help schools buy their food from growers in their communities and strengthen sustainable agriculture. Gardens to Classrooms and Cafeterias

School gardens are a great way to teach children about nutrition and healthy food systems, but very few school incorporate their gardens into classroom curriculum. Students rarely get a chance to taste the fruits of their labor. Help us create free, online manuals to share garden-based curriculum and step-by-step guides to bring school garden produce into the cafeteria. Every donation will be matched by Jack Johnson's All At Once Campaign, doubling the impact of your gift! project reportread updates from the field
