SECRETARIAL REPORT (2018-2019)

Dear friends,

          At first, I would like to wish everybody a happy and prosperous new year 2019.

          It is my pleasure to introduce before you latest Annual Report of 2018-2019. A new annual report is always an occasion for more introspection for our organization as well as me. The annual report is a year stick of our achievement.

          The NRDS has stood for promoted grass-root empowerment. Apart from various difficulties and complex problem in our social systems this year will be remembered as a most successful year for our achievement. Here I am listing some significant achievement towards our goal-Drug-De-addiction, Prog, PC & PNDT Prog, Road Safety Prog, Handicraft Prog, Child Welfare, women Development, medical Prog, Sexual Prog, and Training Prog. On Tailoring, Vocational Course, SHG Formation etc, Camp, Workshop, Seminar Programme on Legal Awareness, Environmental Camp, HIV/AIDS Camp etc.  Agriculture based, and Old Age Home (OAH) for older persons. Although so many welfare programme are already completed/ongoing in last financial year.

          I must convey my thanks to all the members and staffs of our society or their dedication and tireless efforts for the cause of the down trodden people to the highest extent.

          At last I am hopeful that development thinkers, well-wishers, development partners and concerned authorities and bodies will go through the review report and if possible, give us feedback, so that we can further improve our efforts.

About Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society

Barnamala  Educational & Cultural Society is a  not-for-profit organization based in Kharagpur Sub-Division, West Bengal. Establishedon 13th March 2005 and registered on 8th August 2005 under WestBengal Societies Regd. Act. (1961), the Society works in various sectorsin Paschim Medinipur District and many other socially and economicallyunderdeveloped areas in West Bengal. The objective of the Society is tohelp the needy people to achieve and sustain a better quality of life andto strengthen their involvement, their rights and responsibility in thefast growing development of the country

TARGET AREA

Different backward areas Schedule Caste Scheduled tribes others Backward classes, minority community where a good number of inhabitants living in a distressed condition due to handless poverty, formidable illiteracy vide spread economic stagnation in the state of West Bengal and as well as other areas of the others State of India.

TARGET GROUPS

Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other backward classes and Minorities Christian, Downtrodden groups with special actress weaker section living mostly in rural & urban areas.

ACTIVITY PROFILE (2018-2019)

  1. Social Works: -

The Organization has continued its various social welfare programmes for the benefit of rural people which we undertake every year.

The Programmes are details as under: -

 Animal welfare:- Barnamala Educational &Cultural Society is very much committed to the development and protections of companion animals and domestic animals. They run a small health clinic for the animals and intend to build up an animal shelter house with in house dispensary. The number of animals served and sheltered under reporting period were 560 which included dogs, cows, disabled old bulls, goats, cats etc. The organization has also conducted health camps numbering 5 in different villages of Kharagpur-II Block. The villagers co-operated highly in the venture. They brought their domestic as well as companion animals numbering 416. The animals have been immunized and treated with great care this was an immaculate service for the animals.

 

Educational Programme: -.

Non Formal Education Center: -

Our Organization has been organized a Non Formal Education Centre at Madanmohan Village since last ten years. This centre at Madanmohan village of Kharagpur-ii Block has equipped children of   3-6 yrs   in   functional   skill   of development.      While      preprimary educations in non formal methodologies are imparted to them, their articulation abilities and communications skills are developed through dramatics, role play, rhymes, songs, dances and chorographical venture. 30 children attend the Centre. The main objects of the center are too habituated in the formal school and back of the mainstream.

Educational Camp: -

As per last year activities dueling the year we organized 06 educational Camp programme for the local people. The poor family cannot able to teach their children of primary education. The organization has been organized the camp with the help of a team of teachers. They participants of this programme. Although, we has been donated some study materials and uniform among the very poor children.

Rural Library: -

We have a library run by financial assistance from the Paschim Medinipur District Library Office, Govt. of West Bengal. The Library Name is Barnamala Situated at Madanmohan, Changual, Kharagpur Local The said library is very popular in our village. So many educated people are served by this library. The capacity of Books this library is 820. We have looking forward to funding agencies and public for more and more help of this library.

Medical Programme: -

Reproductive Child Health Programme: -

The programme undertake in this year. Initially we formed of adolescent girls group who have belongs 14-18 years age group and consisting of 20-25 members are in a group. The organization provides them some service for their maternity health development by our voluntary workers. The packages of services are: -

  1. Skill Development.
  2. Family Counselling regarding personal life.
  3. Counselling both individual and group.
  4. Necessary information regarding personal life.
  5. Nutrition Education.
  6. Knowledge of personal health and hygiene.
  7. Informal Education for social Security legal aid.
  8. Recreation Sports and Culture.
  9. Group Formation.

 

Health and Sanitation Camp: -

The organization conducted awareness camp for the rural poor people to build up their awareness for protecting all disease especially for the children and mother. The programme was taking in the different villages as integrated personal health and sanitation programme. Our organization is executing the role of media in between to concern people and Govt. and Non-Govt. agencies. Our Organization already motivated 70 Nos. of family in our locality.

Environmental Programme: -

Awareness Generation Programme for Rural & Poor Women: -

Women are marginalized. They don’t have either bargaining power or decision making power on the choice of their own in family or community. In this area of globalization and modern technological invasion, rural women in India are still the receiving end. This is due to several socio-economic factors. The organization has conducted & Awareness Generation programme in one places like Kharagpur Block-II. The duration of the programmeare 02 days with 30 participants are participating in the programme.

The camp was participatory in nature with a lot of experiential sharing on women issues. The course content covered subject like women and society, Indian constitutional and women right, Social legislation, Women rights, law-protecting woman from violence intimidation mechanism etc.

Environment Campaign: -

Meeting, discussion massages were rendered to the villagers of Madanmohan of Kharagpur Block-II on the effective use of firewood in installing improved challah. Two live Demonstrations had been conducted in which 112 women participated as learners. A rally by women from the society to covered the village’s area of Kharagpur Block-II in a day. The rally brought out scintillating posters, hangers, depleting the threat of population on human lives.

Consumer Awareness Camp:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society arranged a ‘Consumer Awareness Camp’ on 12th March , at Puratan Bazar , Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipur. This Programme is start at 10.30 am to 4.30 p.m . On this programme is held on our organization office. The total 110 Men, Women, and Honorable guest are participating in this programme

Plantation: -

As per last year activities The Organization during the year has been purchased the different types of trees. These are Akashmoni, Sababul, Sirish, mehagoni, Neem, Coconut, Guava, Mango and Lemon. Totally 460 trees are purchased and distributed among the 230 families in Kharagpur Block-II and also Planted in our organization Project area. The local people are help and co-operate us for distribution this trees.

Women Welfare Programme: -

One of the prime focuses of Barnamala Educational and Cultural Society is women and their need in our society.Women are still unorganized deprived and marginalized. In our target area most of the women are early school leaver or non school goer. As such, they are not immediately employable. Our motto is to 60% engaged in their own business enable them to generate income and self employment. In view of this we have promoted self help group and provided vocational skill development training.

The organization organized a training programme on Craft for the rural women who are belongs bellow poverty line. There are 30 women attended in the training programme and presently 30 women are engaged in this activities and earned Rs.3200/- to 4500/- per month. The raw materials of the above from are available in the local market. The organization has provided technical and non-technical support for their socioeconomic development.

Legal Awareness Camp on Women:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized an ‘Awareness Camp’specially for women on 12th May at Puratan Bazar , Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 10.30 am to4.30 p.m . On this programme is  held on our organization office. The total 159 women, and honorable guest are participate in this programme.

Skill upgradation Training for SHG’s: -

The organization formed more than 12 Nos. of Self Help Groups for Women in surrounding villages. For their economic development the Organization has been providing then group management training and economic activities training i.e. Mat, weaving, Jute crate, Incense sticks, Agriculture, Pisciculture, Horticulture etc. They have already engaged in their activities with the help of local financial corner and group itself.

Tailoring and Knitting: -

The organization has been organizing tailoring and knitting training course at its training center at Madanmohan for skill development of the woman and unemployed girls for last years. A good number of student out of these training center and become self-employed. Some of them have started readymade garment making business of their own financial assistance.

 

Beautician Training:- Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a “Beautician Training” programme on 21th June at Puratan Bazar , Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 9.30 am to 2p.m . On this programme is held on our organization office. The total 120  women, and Girls are participate in this programme

Doll Making Training:- Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a ‘Doll Making Training’ programme on 15th October at Madanmohan,Changual , Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 8.30 am to 2 p.m. On this programme is held on our organization office. The total 30 Youth and Women are participate in this programme.

Sabui Grass Materials Making Training:-Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a ‘Doll Making Training’ programme on 5th October at Kharagpr Block-II Office , Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 10.30 am to 4 p.m. The total 30 Women,  are participate in this programme.

Crystal Work Training:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a “Crystal Work Training” programme on 8th July at Puratan Bazar , Kharagpur, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 9.30 am to 2p.m . On this programme is held on our organization office. The total 90  women, and Girls are participate in this programme.

Kantha stitch Training:- Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a “Kantha StitchTraining” programme on 21th August at Narayangarh , Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 9.00 am to 2p.m . On this programme is held on Narayangarh Gram Panchyat office. The total 60  women, and Girls are participate in this programme.

Animal Husbandry Training:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a ‘Doll Making Training’ programme on 14th February at Kntageria,Benapur , Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. This programme is start at 8.30 am to 2 p.m.  The total 30 Youth and Women are participate in this programme

Handicrafts Programme: -

The organization has been organized Handicrafts programme among the youth and women. These programme are Bamboo handicrafts and jute Handicrafts. The 36 Nos. of participants and jute Handicrafts. The 36 Nos. of participants are participating about this programme. The trained instructor conducted this programme smoothly and properly. This activity has given them substantial income and has upgraded their socio-economic status. We hope in future the programme will be come in large scale.

Road Safety Programme: -

The Organisation during the year organized Road safety programme in 05 points in our locality. The local people and local administration are co-operate with us for smoothly conduct the said programme. We will be submitting the proposal to the Govt. of India for more and more financial support to conduct the said programme in our area.

Drug De-addiction Programme: -

The Organization conducted the awareness programme and workshop on the Drug addicted man in the 30 patients in the district of Paschim Medinipur. The local people and panchayat. The resource persons and expert are also contributing their valuable time of this programme. We have propagated the amount awareness programme rough handbill, poster, loudspeaker and advertisement in our locality. The people of our area are very interested about this programme.

Training Programme: -

As per last year activities the organization training programme a knitting & Tailoring. Beekeeping, Vocational Training and Artisan Training mainly among the poor women and youths in our locality. The trained instructor and others resources person was present in the time of training. The participants are take training programmeeor their need. The organization destines to earn the money. The organization sanctioned an amount of Rs.90, 100/- for this programme.

Blood Donation Camp:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society arranged a Blood Donation Camp on 15th August at Kantageria, Benapur , Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. This Camp is start at 9.30 am to 2 p.m .  The total 129 men , women and honorable guest are participate in this Camp. In our camp total 50 donors are donated bloods.

Camp and Workshop: -

The organization also organized many types of camp and workshop programme in the different places of the different places of our project area. These programme are Genral Awareness Camp, Science & Technology, and Self Help Group. These activities are very needful in our area. The local resource person and administration are help with us for proper implement these programme. The local people are and others persons are much more benefited of this programme.

Own Project: -

The society has leased some Agri. Land for Agricultural purposes. The modern agricultural system followed of these land. During the year we cultivated potato, Vegetable, oil Seeds etc. We have also production some Nursery plants and creation of man days of this unit

Games & Sports: -

During the year the organization arranged, Volleyball and Football tournament for boyes and girls of the locality. The indoor games also arranged for these participates.

Cultural Programme: -

As per last year activities the organization during the year organized cultural programme to promote the cultural atmosphere in the society. The peoples are participation in these activities triggered up the all-round success of the organization.

Glorious Day: -

Independence Day:-

Independence Day is celebrated on15th August to commemorate its independence from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on that day in 1947. Flag-hoisting ceremonies are conducted all over the country. Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society truly believes that helping the needy is the best celebration for this special day. Therefore, we too is going to organize the Society’s biggest programme every year on 15th August. A wide range of activities would be held on the Independence Day programme serving various target groups in need of help the region.

Netaji Birth Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Republic Day’ on 23th January at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On thisprogramme total 120 men, women,children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office

Republic Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Republic Day’ on 26th January at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On thisprogramme total 200 men, women,children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

 Gandhi Jyanti:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Gandhi Birth Day’ on 2nd October at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 210 men, women,children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

Bibekananda Birth Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Bibekananda Birth Day’ on 12th January at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On thisprogramme total 150 men, women,children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

Rabindranath Tagore Birth Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Rabindranath Tagore Birth Day’ on 9th May at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 200 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

Teachers Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Teachers Day’ on 5th September at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 60 children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

Children’s Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘Children’s Day’ on 14th November at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 45 children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

World Environment Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘World Environment Day’ on 21th February at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 65 Men Women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office

Women’s Day:- Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘women’s Day’ on 8th March at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On thisprogramme total 80 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

International Yoga Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘International Yoga Day’ on 21th June at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On thisprogramme total 200 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

World Aids Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘World Aids Day’ on 1st December at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 60 men, women and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

International Literacy Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘International Literacy Day’ on 8th September at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 200 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

 World Animal Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘World Animal Day’ on 4th October at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 200 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

International Language Day:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society celebrates ‘International Language Day’ on 21st February at Madanmohan, Changual ,Kharagpur Local,Paschim Medinipur. On this programme total 200 men, women, children and some honorable guest are participated. This programme is held on our organization office.

Distribution of Blanket to Poor People:-

Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society organized a ‘Blanket Distribution programme on 2nd October at Madanmohan, Changual,Kharagpur Local, Paschim Medinipur. Total120 Blanket Distribute to Poor People. Some honorable guest are participate in this programme.

 

Infrastructural Development: -

During the year we have purchase Books, Sports Equipment’s, Re-construction of Building for the organization own purposes. The executive Committee has been sanctioned the amount.

Saraswti Puja:-

Educatoinal & Cultural Society Celebrates ‘Saraswati Puja’ at our organization office. On this programme 80 peoples and our pre- primary schools students are participated.

Declaration of Members as Audited Account:-

We hereby affirm that account of 2018-2019 of the organization “Barnamala Educational & Cultural Society” was placed at the Annual General Meeting and the members are satisfied with appreciation accepting the audited statement of Accounts 2018-2019.Auditor Mitesh kr. Agarwal, & Co.Chartered Accountant was appointed as Auditor for the year 2019-2020 and the same by resolved in the Annual General Meeting of the year 2018-2019

 Conclusion

We are most gratefully acknowledge for the continued support given to our organization by the Institution, Non-Govt. organization, Individual Donors, Financial Institution, Sanity collaborating agencies and suppliers.

I on behalf of the organization assure them that we shall always keen on vision intact and strive of full play our role in maintaining and meeting the aspiration of rural people in our project area. We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.
Barnamala Educational and Cultural Society has been organizing several programs for women empowerment from time to time. In order to make women self-reliant,Barnamala Educational and Cultural Society  have organized a skill development training through which women are getting jobs.
The Barnamala Educational and Cultural Society  organization provides skills training to 30 women & girl of poor and marginalized sector in rural area. These women get training of  garment making.
The 71th Republic Day 26 January 2020, Barnamala Educational and Cultural Society  India celebrated by Flag Unfurling in  Garments making vocational education.
Women trainees were sworn in for cleanliness and integrity of the country on the occasion. The women trainees were also made aware about the significance of the Republic Day and about the Biographies of Great warriors.

Cow Mom Won't Leave Hurt Baby's Side | The Dodo

The Cow is the very useful and a practical domestic animal. It was a pious animal for all the Hindus. Hindu peoples worship it as a virtuous animal. It is found nearly everywhere in the world. Indian cows are small and short in sizes, by in other countries, its body is long and large. It has a long face, four thin legs, a long tail, two sharp horns, two big eyes, two ears and a big nose. It eats grass, straw, hay, husk, and grain.She gives us
nutritious milk. Its milk is very benificial  food for newborn babies and sick persons,From its milk, we make cheese, butter, ghee, curd and other different types of sweets are made from it. Its milk is useful for our mind, body and makes us active for the whole day. Farmers use male cow called "ox" to draws carts and plough their _elds. Its dung is used as the fuel and manure. It’s urine used to cure different types of diseases. It is also very useful to us even after death. Its hide is used for making shoes, belts, boots,bags, leather jacket and etc. Its horns are used to make combs, bottoms, razors, and many other things. We all should save and protect the cow because it was the most useful and important for the mankind. A cow is a helpful domestic animal..The Hindus worship it as “Gau Mata.”.A female cow gives milk. From milk, we make cheese, curd and sweets. She gives birth to the baby calf. It gives milk to the calf and takes care of it.We use its dung as a manure.We will take proper care of Cow.So we should take proper care of it. No, another animal is so useful and helpful as a cow.
