Led on the ground by Kenya Field Director Eric Wright, our field team provides day-to-day oversight of programs and direct relationships with the children, youth, and staff we serve. Our work spans residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children through Good Samaritan Children's Home, Project of Hope, and Compassionate Children's Home; girls' education, safety, and trauma recovery through St. Rita Evergreen Girls School; economic empowerment through the Samburu Project and Women's Vocational and Microenterprise programs; access to clean water; and educational access through the Evelyn S. Weatherspoon Scholarship Fund. Our UNMUTED program provides free, trauma-informed peer support to youth ages 15–26 across Kenya through weekly WhatsApp sessions. GDP Kenya operates on an annual budget of $180,000, with 85.7% directed to program services rather than overhead, and currently manages a $770,000 capital investment plan across five priority projects — including the recent completion of new construction at Good Samaritan Children's Home. GDP Kenya believes every person — regardless of circumstance — carries inherent worth and untapped potential, and we exist to walk alongside the most overlooked members of these communities as they move from survival to stability to self-sufficiency.
