Founded in 2012 by Lydia Eva Mpanga, the Foundation works to create opportunities for women, young people, vulnerable children and marginalised communities to build brighter futures through training, enterprise and access to essential support. Through programmes in vocational skills, tailoring, arts and crafts, hospitality, microfinance, education support, community development and conservation-linked enterprise, the Foundation helps individuals develop the tools, confidence and opportunities needed to achieve lasting economic independence. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting girls' education, strengthening local livelihoods, empowering the Batwa community, and creating pathways for young people to thrive within their own communities. At the heart of the Foundation's work is the belief that investing in people creates lasting change. By connecting community development with environmental stewardship, the Gorilla Junction Foundation seeks to build a future in which individuals thrive, nature flourishes and communities prosper together.
