We are a team of Promprylad, an innovative centre for regional growth, transformed from an old gas plant in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. It is a cross-sectoral ecosystem-blueprint where business, local authorities, policymakers and citizens cooperate to drive national renewal - a model replicable in Ukraine and beyond. The full-scale war has created major economic, social and demographic challenges, which leads to significant demography crises and disruptions in the business environment. We address those challenges by equipping individuals with practical skills, empowering entrepreneurs and fostering a new wave of innovative businesses. We are targeting mostly: Early-stage entrepreneurs lacking structured education and funding Business owners looking to refine and scale their models People in need of reskilling and upskilling to secure employment Veterans, IDPs, women entrepreneurs At the heart of our work is a simple belief: Ukraine's recovery will depend not only on rebuilding infrastructure, but also on rebuilding human potential. Through education, entrepreneurship support, reskilling, inclusive spaces, and community-based rehabilitation, Promprylad Foundation creates practical pathways for people to return to work, start and grow businesses, reconnect with society, and contribute to the country's future. The challenge we are working with Due to Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the country is facing profound economic, social, demographic, and security challenges. Millions of people have been displaced, businesses have been disrupted, veterans are returning to civilian life with complex needs, and vulnerable groups face additional barriers to employment and economic participation. Ukraine is experiencing a structural labor market crisis: companies face growing personnel shortages, labor productivity remains low compared to neighboring European economies, and unemployment is especially high among internally displaced people, veterans, women with children, and other underrepresented groups. At the same time, the war has changed the role of local communities. Cities like Ivano-Frankivsk are no longer only places of refuge, but also platforms for adaptation, recovery, entrepreneurship, and new models of social cohesion. Promprylad Foundation responds to these challenges through an integrated ecosystem approach that combines practical skills, entrepreneurship, inclusive infrastructure, and cross-sector partnerships. Our approach 1. Cross-sectoral collaboration. At Promprylad, we bring together diverse voices to co-create solutions: civil society, businesses, and public institutions act together around shared goals. In that way, the response to the crisis becomes faster, more flexible, and more sustainable than any single sector could achieve alone. 2. Community Hubs. Promprylad is more than a building - it is a thriving ecosystem where social innovation meets business, creativity drives recovery, and communities shape their own future. We are cultivating a new culture of openness, in which people share their experiences. 3. Scaling impact outside the community. From the very beginning, Promprylad was designed not just as a local project, but as a replicable model - a blueprint that other cities and communities could learn from and build on. Promprylad's work is organised around a set of targeted programmes, each designed to meet specific needs of its beneficiaries - from first-time entrepreneurs to veterans re-entering civilian life. Our programs unfold across 3 key areas: Economic developments and innovations that is realised in Entrepreneurship School, where we successfully launched: Short-term reskilling courses PROMTECH Research and Product Design Center POLE Radio Electronics Laboratory By the end of 2026 is planned the full launch of the kitchen incubator - Food Hub. Our goal is to create opportunities for Ukrainian food culture development and move from exporting raw materials to selling high-value finished goods. Art for reflection and dialog We are actively incubating an Art center - a space for artistic expression, reflection, and exchange, promoting cultural resilience and providing opportunities for Ukrainian artists to create, collaborate, and connect with wider audiences. Reading promotion center is realized in the space of Sense Bookstore is a place for children and adults where reading is encouraged and where they can find a community for discussion and reflection. Here, Ukrainian writers share their work, engage directly with audiences, and connect with fellow authors - strengthening the local writing community. Veterans accessible sport and recovery. Petros is a veteran-civilian space where veterans, their families, soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in hospitals, and civilians come together. We build a supportive community through shared activities which include: hands-on workshops (making chevrons, painting T-shirts and tubes, etc.), shared cooking sessions, and rehabilitation practices. Just in 2025 our impact in figures - 1,500+ participants, 92 events, 10 workshops engaged in recovery, new skills building, and community activities including sports, and group practices focused on mental health and emotional support and recovery. In particular, there are three core programs where we see the biggest impact into regional economic development and innovation. Together, these initiatives create a holistic recovery model: people gain skills, find work, build businesses, recover physically and emotionally, and reconnect with their communities. Two of these programmes contribute to the economic and business context of the community development and create the core of the Promprylad's Entrepreneurship School - an ecosystem that helps micro and small business founders launch or scale their companies, while strengthening communities and contributing to Ukraine's recovery. It combines educational programmes, mentorship, and access to a community of entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on women founders, veterans, and their families. We are currently re-envisioning the Entrepreneurship Center strategy, with a stronger focus on research and development, energy-related initiatives, innovation and acceleration programs. In 2026 we started working closely with the Diia-business ecosystem at the local level, currently at the stage of transferring community-based entrepreneurship activities into this collaboration. Here we want to highlight: Short-term reskilling courses PROMTECH - a strategic reskilling and employment program that helps veterans, internally displaced people, women with children, unemployed people, and economically inactive groups gain practical skills for high-demand jobs. The program equips people with skills for jobs that are in high demand: operating industrial machinery, 3D modeling, electronics assembly, essential construction trades, HoReCa. PROMTECH connects training providers, employers, donors, and the state to create a sustainable model for fast-track professional training and job placement. Spromozhna - empowering Ukrainian women entrepreneurs. Spromozhna ("Empowered") is a community platform for female entrepreneurs operating in three modes: learning and peer support through free training, skills development, and study visits to women-led businesses; a mentorship programme; and an ongoing media campaign featuring women-led businesses. Over three years, the initiative has delivered over 650 hours of mentor support and reached more than 1,000 women across Ukraine. It supports women who are building and growing businesses during wartime, helping them gain confidence, practical tools, peer support, and access to new opportunities. The third strategic programme is supporting veterans and people with disabilities - Accessible sports and recovery center. Promprylad Foundation is developing Ukraine's first world-class 3,000 m Sports & Recovery Center in cooperation with the veteran-civilian PETROS space. The center will support veterans, people with disabilities, children, and local communities through adaptive sports, physical recovery, community activities, and social reintegration. Support from GlobalGiving will help Promprylad Foundation scale its holistic recovery model and reach more people affected by the war. Our current priorities expand reskilling and employment programs for vulnerable groups; support more women entrepreneurs with mentoring, education, and inclusive workspaces; develop adaptive sports and recovery infrastructure for veterans and people with disabilities; strengthen local partnerships between civil society, business, education institutions, and public authorities; create a replicable model of community-based recovery that can be adapted across Ukraine. Our long-term vision: Promprylad Foundation is building more than a center. We are building a model of recovery where economic resilience, social inclusion, and human potential reinforce each other.
