We recognize that there are many barriers to accessing sport leadership training in underserved communities, including: cost, socio-economic factors, accessibility & transit, technology and lack of support. Through our Aspiring Coaches Youth Mentorship Program, our goal is to break down these barriers and develop a next generation of sport leadership that is more representative of the communities where we work and play. Our programming provides financial, material and emotional support alongside technical training in order to empower youth coaches to become leaders on and off the field. We also seek to create paths to employment by providing qualified training these coaches can include on their resume, experience volunteering and leading sport, and valuable connections through networking and mentorship.
