Our founder, Maggie Grout, was born in a rural village in China and abandoned as a baby, later discovered by an orphanage worker. Thanks to educational opportunities, she was able to pursue her dreams-an opportunity many girls in similar circumstances never receive. Inspired by the potential of technology to create humanitarian solutions, Maggie founded Thinking Huts in 2015 to increase global access to education. Overcoming numerous obstacles, including a global pandemic, Thinking Huts has demonstrated how 3D printing can advance quality education and innovation while working closely with communities, employing local artisans, and adapting designs based on feedback.
