Founded in 1971, MSF has more than 50 years of experience providing impartial medical humanitarian relief combined with a commitment to speaking out against the causes of suffering and the obstacles to providing effective assistance. Our primary goal is to reach people without other access to medical care and humanitarian aid, filling gaps and meeting the urgent needs of especially vulnerable people. Today, MSF responds to both high-profile and neglected emergencies, delivering outpatient medical care to more than 12 million people annually in some of the hardest-to-reach regions of the world. In 2022, MSF's global workforce of nearly 68,000 staff ran projects in more than 75 countries to respond to disease outbreaks and natural disasters, carry out surgery in conflict zones, treat children for malnutrition, help women give birth safely, and provide clean water and humanitarian aid to people fleeing violence.
