IMBCO's mission is to lead as a driver of positive change in respectful and equitable maternal and neonatal care by collaborating with networks of facilities, individuals, and organizations throughout the world to promote respectful care in pregnancy, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn healthcare. IMBCO works towards these goals through the implementation of the International Childbirth Initiative (ICI):12 Steps to Safe and Respectful MotherBaby-Family Maternity Care.
