iLaw is a civil society organization that utilizes communication, advocacy, and public engagement to realize the goal of democratic principles, freedom of expression, and accountable government. Our works focus on evidenced-based research, building knowledge and online database of public knowledge, and utilizing a variety of online and social media to circulate information and encourage broad public participation. Our works focus on evidenced-based research, building knowledge and online database of public knowledge, and utilizing a variety of online and social media to circulate information and encourage broad public participation. Our activities are designed to enable people to participate according to their experience, ensuring that outcomes result from inclusive engagement. The long term goals of iLaw are ; 1) Building democratic society where laws and policies are made on the real need from the ground which people can participate before any decision is made. The concrete outcome can be seen from the Constitution that is drafted from legitimate participatory process and the legislative mechanisms that is elected fairly from people's voice. 2) Building free and safe society that people can express their views on the social and political issues without fear of prosecutions or other threats. The concrete outcome can be seen as the amendment of abolishment of Lese Majeste law, Computer Crimes Act, Public Assembly Act, Criminal Defamation Law, etc. and other laws that restrict freedom of expression which mostly enacted by military coups. 3) Strengthening the culture that respect human rights, diversity and equality in Thai society. This can be achieved by having sustainable and strong organizations who work in long term, having knowledge, information, communication materials that are available online, having state agencies or strategies which carry the roles to promote and protect human rights.
