To help our nonprofit partners grow their monthly support base during the year-end fundraising season, GlobalGiving is offering a 200% match on all new monthly donations set up between Dec. 14, 2020, at 00:00:00 ET and Dec. 18, 2020, at 23:59:59 ET. (Watch the 10-minute explainer video)
The deadline to submit new projects, project edits, project reports, and project appeals to be approved in time for inclusion in the monthly match drive is Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 17:00:00 ET.
The match applies to the first installment in the monthly series. In order to be matched, eligible monthly donations must be active for four total payments. After those four months, the matching funds will be sent in the April 2021 disbursement.
Active Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations are eligible to participate in the December 2020 Monthly Donor Drive. GlobalGiving-sponsored projects and funds are ineligible for this offer.
Active projects of eligible organizations will be automatically included.
New projects must meet the submission deadline.
Microprojects will be included in the offer, however, GlobalGiving cannot extend the 90-day time period. When a microproject expires, monthly donors to it will be asked to transfer their donation to another project. GlobalGiving will direct the match to the project selected after the fourth monthly payment occurs.
New monthly donations to your GlobalGiving project that start during the Monthly Donor Drive will be matched at 200% up to $200 per donor, per project. Monthly donations above $200 per month will still receive the maximum $400 match to the project.
The 200% match only applies to the first donation in the monthly series. New monthly donations started this week must remain active for three months after the initial donation (a minimum of four donations total) to qualify for the match.
For example, new recurring donations started during the monthly donor drive in December that remain active through January, February, and March, will be matched.
Monthly donations that are canceled before the fourth monthly payment are not eligible for matching.
If a donor changes the project that they are supporting, GlobalGiving will direct the match to the project selected after the fourth monthly payment occurs.
Only monthly donations created on GlobalGiving are eligible for this matching offer.
This offer is limited to matching a donor’s first monthly donation to a project. If a donor cancels their monthly donation and makes a new monthly donation to the same project, they are not eligible for additional matching. In the event that a donor alters the monthly donation amount, it will be up to GlobalGiving’s discretion to determine which donation is matched.
GlobalGiving will monitor and review all donations made through this matching offer. Please note that to uphold the spirit of this matching offer GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the allocation of matching funds. We reserve the right to prevent abuse of this offer and ensure that as many projects and donors are able to benefit as possible.
Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
To be eligible for the match, monthly donations must be set up online using credit card, debit card, PayPal, or ApplePay. No other available giving options will qualify for the match.
Donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
One-time donations will not be matched.
Monthly donations made by project leaders or staff of the recipient project or organization are not eligible for matching.
GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations, the nonprofit support fee is 5%; for organizations outside the US and UK, it is 7%. During the December Monthly Donor Drive, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to matching funds earned. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
