GlobalGiving Fellows Program

The GlobalGiving Fellows Program offers young professionals the opportunity to learn how a thriving international NGO operates. As a fellow, you will get hands-on, practical experience and opportunities to explore the field of international development. The program is a highly selective, full-time service year that will challenge and inspire you, but also require hard work and dedication. You will have the opportunity to explore various areas that interest you, so you can capitalize on your experience. You'll be a vital contributor to our team, not getting coffee or filing papers all day long. In return, we offer a $28,000 stipend, health insurance, professional development funding, tons of learning opportunities, delicious goodies in our Free Food Spot, and an amazing year!

Alicia Helfrich

Operations Fellow 2016/2017

As the operations fellow, I troubleshoot disbursement issues and collaborate with people from all over the world to ensure that donations are sent successfully. Additionally, I help keep GlobalGiving running smoothly, dig up useful data about our operations, and make presentations at our weekly staff meetings. My favorite project was managing and coordinating our entire disbursement process from start to finish! This fellowship has been a bridge between my traditional business background and my passion for the social sector. I have continued to build technical and financial skills while also learning about the fascinating world of philanthropy. Now, I have the credentials I need to explore jobs in corporate social responsibility, impact investing, or social enterprise.

GlobalGiving has taught me so much in the span of a year. Most of all, I’ve learned that supporting local change makers is one of the most effective ways to drive the world forward. If you want to help find locally driven solutions to global problems, GlobalGiving is the place to be.
Chase Williams, GlobalGiving Fellow 2016-2017
Getting the chance to build marketing campaigns that make an impact in the social sector has been a life-changing opportunity. Every day, I connect donors to vetted organizations they can feel good contributing to, so nonprofits get the funding they need to change the world.
Janica Kaneshiro, GlobalGiving Fellow 2016-2017
GlobalGiving has provided me the opportunity to turn my academic experience into real world change. I've been able to apply much of the knowledge and skills I gained in graduate school towards helping nonprofits all across the globe increase their impact and effectiveness in their communities.
Mike Smeltzer, GlobalGiving Fellow 2016-2017
Taking this fellowship has proved to be an invaluable investment in my future. I have been inspired by GlobalGiving’s work and amazed by the opportunities to manage projects as a program fellow.
Sarah Taylor, GlobalGiving Fellow 2016-2017
I recommend the fellowship without reservation. GlobalGiving has provided me with opportunities to channel my entrepreneurial spirit into cutting-edge projects, hone my research and analytical skills, and develop relationships with brilliant people, including executive leadership.
