How We Process Donations

GlobalGiving is committed to getting donations to our donors' recommended projects and organizations.

Donations are disbursed to the recommended project or organization within 30 days from the end of the month when the donation was received. Donations made in GBP are processed via GlobalGiving UK and may in some cases take an additional 30 days or longer to be disbursed to the recommended project or organization. Gift Aid claims on GBP donations from UK taxpayers are also subject to longer processing times.

However, in rare cases, we may not be able to process donations in the timeframes above or as donors' intended. This happens most commonly because:

• The project has been retired or fully funded between the time of the donation and its processing.
• A law prohibits it.
• The organization is out of compliance with GlobalGiving vetting requirements or has outdated account information.
• A banking partner is not able to disburse the funds or GlobalGiving encounters restrictions in disbursing funds.
• The project no longer supports GlobalGiving's charitable purposes.
• GlobalGiving is reviewing a complaint against the organization.
• The donation is made via a GlobalGiving Gift Card that has not yet been paid for by the purchaser.

In the cases above, GlobalGiving may delay disbursing the funds or may ask the donor to provide an alternate project or organization to support. In the rare case where the funds cannot be transferred or a donor has not provided an alternate project or organization, we may re-designate the funds to another project or organization in our reasonable discretion.
