Daan Utsav 2018 Terms + Conditions

Crowdfunding Campaign Structure:

• Daan Utsav 2018 is a crowdfunding campaign for Indian nonprofits to raise funds between Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018 (09:00:00 IST) and Monday, October 8th, 2018 (23:59:59 IST) on GlobalGiving and Impact Guru.
• Only active Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations on GlobalGiving based in India with at least 1 active project are eligible for this campaign.
• GlobalGiving’s India based partners’ projects will be automatically added to this campaign on GlobalGiving. Organizations can also choose to raise funds in Indian rupees with our Indian platform partner, Impact Guru by following this link and posting a project by September 28th 2018, 18:00 IST.
• If your organization already has an active project on Impact Guru and you wish to promote that one instead of posting a new project for this campaign, please email rajeshree.garodia@impactguru.com to auto link it instead of posting a new project.
• Organizations participating in this campaign will not be eligible to participate in any other campaign on Impact Guru between Oct 2-8.
• No organization can win more than one bonus cash prize. To maximise your chance of winning a bonus prize, we recommend organizations to pick one project to promote during the campaign.
• Separate cash prizes are available for organizations on both GlobalGiving and Impact Guru.
• Daan Utsav 2018 Campaign participants can choose to fundraise on one or both platforms.

Campaign Prizes!

Benchmark Prizes:

• The first 25 projects to raise $500 from a minimum of 15 unique donors on GlobalGiving.org will win $100 each.
• The first 25 projects to raise Rs. 35,000 from a minimum of 15 unique donors on ImpactGuru.com will win $100 each.
• The same project is eligible to win prizes on both GlobalGiving and Impact Guru.
• GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of cash and additional prizes.

Overall Prizes:

The top 20 organizations with the highest donation volume that raise a minimum of $1000 on GlobalGiving  will win exclusive training from GlobalGiving staff and other promotional prizes.

• All eligible organizations will receive an interest form post October 8th to choose from the available prizes. The priority for making the choices will be based on your ranking it terms of donation volume.
• Each organization is eligible to win only 1 consultation/promotional prize.
• Prizes that can be claimed include:

Training from GlobalGiving experts on:

• ‘How to virtualise your HR department using Slack’ - with Marc Maxmeister, Innovation Consultant, GlobalGiving. (2 one-hour prizes)
• ‘How to use EverNote to organize your meeting notes’ -with Maria Catalina Villalpando Paez, Mexico Partnerships Consultant, GlobalGiving. (2 one-hour prizes)
• ‘Upgrading your corporate fundraising’ with Kavita Mathew, India Partnerships Consultant, GlobalGiving. ( 2 one-hour prizes)
• ‘Social Media for Nonprofits - 101’ with Miranda Cleland, Champion for Community Engagement, GlobalGiving. ( 2 one-hour prizes)
• Personalised consultation on ‘How to improve your project page’ - GlobalGiving Program Fellows. (6 half-hour prizes)

Promotional Prizes:

• Project feature on our Learn Section. (1 prize)
• Project feature on the GlobalGiving’s homepage for 24 hours on a day of your choice. (5 prizes)
• Get your project featured on GlobalGiving’s twitter page (2 prizes)
• Site visit from GlobalGiving’s India Partnerships Consultant - Kavita Mathew (1 prize)

Organizations raising funds on Impact Guru also stand a chance to win 3 bonus prizes:

• Project with the highest volume on Impact Guru: Rs. 25,000 (has to raise a minimum of Rs.4,00,000 on Impact Guru)
• Project with the second highest volume on Impact Guru: Rs. 15,000 (has to raise a minimum of Rs. 3,00,000 on Impact Guru)
• Project with the third highest volume on Impact Guru:  Rs. 10,000 (has to raise a minimum of Rs. 2,00,000 on Impact Guru)

Donation Methods & Disbursements:

• Impact Guru Terms + Conditions will apply to donations made on the Impact Guru website.
• The rest of this section is only applicable for donations made on GlobalGiving.
• Donation eligibility: Online donations made by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or an official GlobalGiving gift card will count towards bonus prizes for Daan Utsav. Online donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
• The following forms of donations are ineligible in this campaign: Cash, check, wire transfers, text-to-give, CAF check, CAF online, donations made by JustGiving, donations through Facebook, donations made on a GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving site, or donations made directly to an organization rather than a project on the GlobalGiving website.
• Unique donors are determined using numerous criteria, including name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We monitor these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only unique, distinct donors are counted towards bonus prizes.
• Please note that GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the adjudication of unique donors and final results of the Daan Utsav Campaign.
• Any activity not in the spirit of requesting separate individuals to support donations is being moderated by GlobalGiving, and GlobalGiving reserves the right to permanently disqualify organizations for any attempts of misconduct.
• Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
• The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
• Donations and bonus prizes secured by your GlobalGiving project during the Daan Utsav campaign will be disbursed in the usual monthly cycle.

Tax-Efficient Giving & Fulfillment Fee:

• Tax Efficiency: GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
• Fulfillment Fee: GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations the nonprofit support fee is 5%; for organizations outside the US and UK, it is 7%. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
