GlobalGiving 2021 Photo Contest

Nonprofit Participation Terms + Conditions

Photo Submission
  • All Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations with active projects are eligible to participate in the GlobalGiving 2021 Photo Contest, with the exceptions of Indian-banked organizations, emerging organizations, and GlobalGiving-sponsored projects and Funds.
  • Organizations are invited to select one photo to represent their work. Multiple photo submissions will not be accepted.
  • The photo that you would like to submit to the GlobalGiving 2021 Photo Contest must be set as the primary photo that is posted on your project page when you complete and submit the entry form. If your project features a video, GlobalGiving will use the primary photo indicated on your project dashboard.
  • The deadline to submit a photo for consideration in the GlobalGiving 2021 Photo Contest is Friday, July 16 at 23:59:59 EDT. If you will be updating the main photo on your project page ahead of time, request that update to your page by Monday, July 12 at 23:59:59 EDT for our team to approve. Photo Contest submissions to projects “pending approval” will not be considered.
PRIZE STRUCTURE
  • The organization with the photo that receives the most votes across all categories during the open voting period will be awarded a $1,000 grand prize to support the organization’s project.
  • In addition to the grand prize, 3 runners up with the most votes per category will be awarded a $500 prize.
  • All 150 finalists may have additional opportunities to be featured in GlobalGiving social media promotions throughout the year.
VOTING WEEK
  • Once all photos have been submitted, GlobalGiving will select 50 finalists from the following three categories for a total of 150 finalists.
    • Picture Perfect: professional-grade photography from any partner who joined GlobalGiving 2+ years ago
    • New to GlobalGiving: photography from partners who joined the GlobalGiving community within the last 2 calendar years (2019 - 2021) and have not participated in the GlobalGiving Photo Contest previously
    • Memorable Moments: photography which captures one of your organization’s most treasured moments, tells a story, and/or provides a compelling visual for your mission
  • Finalist selection and category assignment will be conducted by the GlobalGiving team based on photo quality, composition, and relevance to the project mission.
  • The photos will be uploaded to the voting page on GlobalGiving.org for voting, and voting will be open to the public.
  • Voting will take place from Monday, August 16, at 00:00:00 EDT until Friday, August 20, at 23:59:59 EDT.
  • Votes will be counted based on email address. Only unique email addresses will be counted towards a unique vote.
  • Each vote must be confirmed via email. Once a vote has been made, the voter will receive an email from GlobalGiving to confirm his or her vote. Only upon confirmation will that vote be counted.
  • An individual may vote for as many photos as he or she wishes, but only one vote per photo will count. For example, if an individual votes for the same photo five times, only one of the votes for that photo will count towards the total.
  • To encourage voters to stay engaged with the projects they’re voting for, voters have the option of casting a vote and joining GlobalGiving email list and project report updates from their chosen photo selection, and such votes will count as three votes.
  • GlobalGiving will be closely monitoring all voting activity and will cross-match information including email addresses, names, countries, and IP addresses to determine the validity of all voters. Votes that are deemed fraudulent will be removed. Furthermore, any activity not in the spirit of having unique individuals vote will not be counted towards vote totals and will result in disqualification of an organization from the contest.
  • The organization with the photo that has the most votes overall at 23:59:59 EDT on August 20 will be notified by Friday, August 27 at 5:00:00 p.m. EDT and awarded a $1,000 prize to be used to support the organization’s project. Disbursement of prizes will be included in the usual monthly disbursement process. Please note: The winner is not secured until the organization receives confirmation from GlobalGiving.
