  • Organizations are invited to submit up to 3 photos from unique projects for consideration in the contest. Any photo that you would like to submit to the GlobalGiving 2020 Photo Contest must be set as the primary photo that is posted on your project page when you complete and submit the entry form.
  • New photos must be uploaded by Wednesday, July 29 at 11:59 a.m. EDT in order to ensure sufficient time for approval by the GlobalGiving team.
  • The deadline to submit a photo or photos for consideration in the GlobalGiving 2020 Photo Contest is Friday, July 31 at 23:59:59 EDT.
PRIZE STRUCTURE
  • The organization with the photo that receives the most votes across all categories during the open voting period will be awarded a $1,000 grand prize to support the organization’s project.
  • In addition to the grand prize, 5 runners up will be awarded a $200 prize. There will be one runner up prize awarded in each category.
  • The runners up will be selected by external judges (to be announced).
  • To be considered for a $200 runner up prize, your photo must be among the top 5 photos with the most votes in its category (excluding the grand prize winner).
  • All 100 finalists may have additional opportunities to be featured in GlobalGiving social media promotions throughout the year.

  • Voting will take place from Monday, August 17th at 12:00:01 EDT until Friday, August 21st at 12:00:01 EDT.
  • Votes will be counted based on email addresses. Only unique email addresses will be counted towards a unique vote.
  • Each vote must be confirmed via email. Once a vote has been made, the voter will receive an email from GlobalGiving to confirm his or her vote. Only upon confirmation will that vote be counted.
  • An individual may vote for as many photos as he or she wishes, but only one vote per photo will count. For example, if an individual votes for the same photo five times, only one of the votes for that photo will count towards the total.
  • To encourage voters to stay engaged with the projects they’re voting for, voters have the option of casting a vote and joining GlobalGiving email list and project report updates from their chosen photo selection, and such votes will count as three votes.
  • GlobalGiving will be closely monitoring all voting activity and will cross-match information including email addresses, names, countries, and IP addresses to determine the validity of all voters. Votes that are deemed fraudulent will be removed. Furthermore, any activity not in the spirit of having unique individuals vote will not be counted towards vote totals and will result in disqualification of an organization from the contest.
  • The organization with the one photo that has the most votes overall at 12:00:00 EDT on August 21st will be notified by Friday, August 28th at 5:00:00 EDT, and awarded a $1,000 prize to be used to support the organization’s project. Please note: The winner is not secured until the organization receives confirmation from GlobalGiving.
  • The organizations that are selected as runners-up will be notified by Friday, August 28th at 5:00:00 EDT, and awarded $200 prizes to be used to support the organization’s project. Please note: These prizes are not secured until each organization receives a confirmation from GlobalGiving.
