L’Oréal partners with GlobalGiving to vet its increasing portfolio of nonprofit partners as the first step to achieving a partnership with L’Oréal.

GlobalGiving and L’Oréal work together to determine your eligibility for a L’Oréal partnership. Here is how it works:
The first step in completing GlobalGiving’s due diligence process is receiving an emailed invitation to submit your organization’s due diligence application.
The application is completely online. GlobalGiving’s vetting team ensures that your nonprofit is performing charitable work in a transparent and accountable manner and that they meet requirements for registration with their local government. GlobalGiving collects and reviews legal documents, financial records, program materials, and lists of senior staff and board members. GlobalGiving also evaluates the organization’s capacity to implement activities, communicate about its work, and researches your organization’s relationship with previous funders. Finally, GlobalGiving ensures that your organization is compliant with anti-terror guidelines and international guidelines for philanthropy.
You are encouraged to submit GlobalGiving’s due diligence application within 21 days of receiving an invitation. The application requires submission of a number of critical documents, including:

GlobalGiving performs rigorous due diligence on all organizations in the GlobalGiving community in order to ensure they perform charitable work in a transparent and accountable manner and meet local requirements for registration with their local government. We collect and review documentation for every organization, including its legal documents, financial records, program materials, and lists of senior staff and board members, in order to validate that the organization is running the project as described. We also evaluate the organization’s capacity to implement activities and review how it communicates about its work. GlobalGiving also researches the organization’s relationship with previous funders. Finally, we ensure that the organization is compliant with anti-terror guidelines and international guidelines for philanthropy.
Once your completed application is submitted, GlobalGiving will review your organization’s materials within two weeks, at which time, GlobalGiving will notify L’Oréal of your organization’s status, and initiate the next steps as necessary.
Q: My application materials are not in English. Do I need to provide official English translations?
A: We ask that you provide translations of your documents if they are not in English. However, these translations do not need to be official and may be made using Google Translate.
Q: Why isn’t L’Oréal contacting us directly from their office in our country?
A: Your organization is being contacted by GlobalGiving because L’Oréal has partnered with GlobalGiving to vet all nonprofit organizations nominated by L’Oreal for inclusion in their international grantmaking programs.
Q: Can my organization receive donations through GlobalGiving’s platform in addition to L’Oréal’s partnership?
A: Yes, if approved, all organizations in the L’Oréal International Vetting Program have access to both GlobalGiving’s platform and L’Oréal’s partnership. Learn more about the benefits of joining GlobalGiving’s platform, here.
Q: Do I need to complete my application all at once?
A: No. GlobalGiving’s online application allows you to start an application and save it along the way. You can exit the application at any time, just be sure to click “Save.”
Q: How long do I have to submit the application?
A: We ask that you complete your application within two weeks of receiving the initial invitation to apply. Once you submit your application, GlobalGiving has ten business days to review and get back to you with any questions. You will receive an email confirming your application’s approval.
Q: Who should I reach out to if I have questions about the application process?

Q: If I don’t want to post a project on GlobalGiving’s website, do I still need to agree to the terms and conditions?
A: GlobalGiving’s terms and conditions apply only if you plan to post projects on globalgiving.org, which we recognize may not apply to your charitable giving program. However, at this time, GlobalGiving asks all referred organizations to agree to the terms and conditions whether you intend to post a project or not. Please reach out to loreal@globalgiving.org with any specific concerns regarding this step in the process, and we will try to work with you on your specific needs.
Q: Will the information I submit be made visible to L’Oreal?
A: Documents and application materials are kept confidential between the applicant and GlobalGiving and will not be shared with L’Oréal.

A: If your organization is unable to share required due diligence application materials due to local regulatory concerns, please reach out to our team at loreal@globalgiving.org to provide more detail. We will be happy to work with you as best we can to identify an appropriate solution.
Q: What happens once the due diligence process is complete?
A: GlobalGiving will alert L’Oréal of the referred organization’s due diligence status once it has been reviewed, and the L’Oréal team will directly touch base with the organization to discuss the results and next steps.
