Daktari is situated in an area with more than 300 days of sunlight per year. We will use solar power to reduce the use of gas and fuel in our centre, which inspires & educates underprivileged children
We allow underprivileged children to experience their local environment which is their heritage. We inspire these children to protect their environment and inform them about eco tourism job opportunities. The project is far from supplies. We can only make a trip to town once a week and fresh supplies need to be refrigerated or frozen. Solar energy will be used to power our centre.
Weekly 8 needy children attend bush school at the wildlife orphanage. Rescued animals, bush walks and lessons inspire students to care for their environment. Children are tutored on school subjects and are also taught about life skills and careers.
To run the office, 3 fridges and 3 deep freezers Daktari has to run generators and gas which are colossal expenses affecting our survival. Being equipped with solar power will reduce our cost whilst reducing the pollution using clean energy.
