Pen and bags for children
South Africa
Environment
Each week, Daktari welcomes 8 children for an environmental education. When the children return in their village, they share what they learnt at Daktari with their community. The impact in the village is tremendous! All the children are waiting for their turn to come to Daktari. Giving them a Daktari branded pen and bag would make a wider impact in the village. We would also like to sell some bags to raise more funds to cover the cost of education and to spread the word about Daktari.

Teach over 200 Kids in Eco Clubs in Rural Villages

Education
Daktari YEP (Youth Empowerment Program) has two focus groups; the youth in high school and the youth that just finished their matric. The main objectives for both groups is to provide empowerment, motivation and guidance, which will enable the young adults of the Limpopo region to better themselves and their future, as well as improve their standard of living and that of their families. We encourage the students to become spokes people within their community, and to set the right example.

Provide food and care for our leopard for one year
South Africa
Animals
In the wild Shiloweni, the leopard, was getting too close to humans. He had to be relocated but unfortunately, during this process he lost his canines. Therefore he couldn't be rehabilitated and was sent to Daktari. Our beloved Shiloweni needs your help for his care at Daktari. $6.000 will provide Shiloweni with food, veterinary care and maintenance of his solar powered electric fence for one full year.

We are currently taking care of a pig called Herbie, he is a cross between a bushpig and a domestic pig. He was orphaned and brought to us by a nearby reserve who did not know what to do with him. Unfortunately he is getting bigger now and his enclosure is just not big enough anymore.
