Compassion First has opened the first in a series of top-notch transitional aftercare centers for sexually trafficked girls in Indonesia and broader Southeast Asia.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
With over 240 million people, 17,000 islands and porous borders, Indonesia serves as a major source, transit, and destination country for tens of thousands of sexually trafficked women & girls. Geography and economic disparity also lend to conditions that make trafficking of humans a robust industry. Services within this country are virtually non-existent as far as survivor intervention and aftercare are concerned.
How will this project solve this problem?
Make Her Strong Again--It's more than shelter and safety, it is an investment in her future with the availability of education and vocational training to the fullest ability of each child. It is providing the best wrap-around care available.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will provide all encompassing life care & education for 20+ women and children, giving them the means for a hopeful and self sustaining future, which will in turn create independent, productive individuals giving back to their community.
