Benue State is a source state for recruitment of victims. They are recruited most of the times from the rural areas because of the high rate of poverty, lack of skills acquisition programs the potential victims are lured with the attraction of going to find work in the cities and some of them are brought to the cities by relatives. In the cities where they find themselves most times the commercial and more developed cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano the victims are given out.

How will this project solve this problem?

1. Advocacy meetings 2. Organizing sensitisation workshops on indicators of TIP 3.Organising awareness raising discussion in Secondary Schools 4.Two day training program for teachers 5.Monitoring and Evaluation

Potential Long Term Impact

The awareness component would create a system of accountability whereby the targeted beneficiaries would be more responsible in handling situations relating to TIP. The targeted beneficiaries will be able to identify indicators of TIP cases / victims and referral facilities that are available within their communities. The interactive foras would be organized to facilitate interactive discussions among the students and experts and their teachers.
