Thanks to the collaborative efforts and your generosity, Yonni has regained the ability to walk. After surviving an explosion at the age of 5 months, which caused severe burns to his head, limbs, and torso, today Yonni can walk and engage in all the activities typical of a child his age.
To receive his comprehensive rehabilitation treatment, Yonni and his family relocated from Chocó, the poorest department in Colombia, to Medellín, where they received continuous support from the United for Colombia Foundation and its volunteers. Yonni's treatment has included leg amputation surgery, physical, occupational, and psychological therapies, prosthetic adaptation, and plenty of enjoyable activities!
