Thank you very much for supporting the rehabilitation of Mocha & Shasta. The girls are both doing well, in fact Mocha was moved to a trainers to learn some ground manors after feeling a little "too good" at her foster home!
Mocha has once again reminded us of how much damage is done to a staved horses internal organs. She is doing well now but it took a long time for her to heal on the inside before we could start to see the weight gain on the outside. Her metabolism went on overload for a while. As you can see by her photo, she pushed through the scary part and is now putting on weight without any problems!
Shasta seemed to recover much quickly. The world has been all about food for her. Our great foster family had to teach her some manners, such as not to push on the stall door while screaming for her turn to get a meal. She has settled in a bit more now and has reduced her scream to a gentle nicker.
Your generosity helped us raise over $2600 to care for Mocha & Shasta. Thank you for helping us give them a new start at life!
Sincerely,
Kim Mosiman
