Lets Give Mocha & Shasta A Second Chance At Life

Mocha & Shasta's previous owners gave them away on craigslist 6 months ago to a home that did not feed or care properly for them. Together we can be their safety net and give them a second chance at life. Our rehabilitation process includes a careful refeeding program, a multistage deworming protocol, dental care, vaccines and training using natural horsemanship techniques. These valuable techniques help us build the horses' confidence, riding skills and connection with people.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Our local communities often lack adequate funding to properly deal with horse neglect cases. It is our goal to make is easy for local law enforcement to process these cases by taking on the care of the horses. This encourages agencies to step in and help out local horses more often. In this case law enforcement encouraged Mocha & Shasta's owners to surrender them to SEO for much needed proper care.

How will this project solve this problem?

Helping out law enforcement in this case will help bring awareness to the community. Often this encourages more people to speak up and report horses that are suffering. On a more personal level, we will restore the physical and mental health of Mocha & Shasta. With your help these mares will go on to amazing, loving homes where they will be cared for the rest of their lives.

Potential Long Term Impact

Sound Equine Options hopes to provide education and awareness of our programs and the neglect crisis in our community.
