Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your generous donation to "Help Send Nine Girls to Ninth Grade!" Because of your support we have been able to cover tuition costs for all our girls who started high school this year. There is no public high school in Cabarete, so the children here either need to travel a half a hour to the nearest public high school or pay for the private school nearby. As a result, many students do not finish high school, and it became critical for the Mariposa DR Foundation to support our girls in finishing their education.
Thanks to your support and the close relationship the Mariposa Foundation has with CADIN, we have begun to send all our high school girls to the local private high school. The girls receive the best education possible there, and our girls are thriving there! One Mariposa, Yafreisy, has risen to this new challenge and loves the advanced education she receives there. Her behavior, attendance, and school performance have all improved, and she has begun to act as an academic role model for some of the younger girls. None of these amazing improvements would have been possible without your support.
