During the last week of June, donated funds towards this project were used in conjunction with donated funds from the Lend a Hand Bahamas organization to host a summer camp for children in the town of Sandy Point located in Abaco, Bahamas. The children took part in a marine science program, backyard gardening project, swim lessons, and sporting activities. During the marine science program, we used the sport of fishing as a way to keep the children more engaged and interested in learning more about their local marine environment. There are plans in the works to host a summer camp there every year from now on.
