You Helped Ingrid!

Ingrid was teaching English in Costa Rica. She loved her students, the quaint town she lived in, the people, everything. When she was attacked in her small home, beaten and sexually assaulted, her world fell apart. Her mother called us crying, desperate to find help for Ingrid. One of our contacts in Costa Rica was able to get Ingrid to a doctor and help her file a police report. We have been providing free counseling for Ingrid. Her court case is coming up next month and because of donations like yours, she will be able to go to court with a psychologist by her side. Ingrid has a long way to go but she is doing because we are able to help sexual assault victims with your support. Thank you so much!

Thank you for helping Joan and Andrew!

When Joan called us she was desperate. She had fled with her son Andrew back to the USA for safety. When she filed for custody of Andrew in the USA, her abusive husband filed a Hague Petition to force Joan to return Andrew to him. Andrew had been not only emotionally abused by his father but physically. Because of donations like yours, we were able to get Joan an attorney and get Andrew in to see a child psychologist. The psychologist determined Andrew had been abused by his father and did not have to be sent back to Argentina.

In 2014 we helped 486 families one family at a time. You have helped make it possible! Thank you.

You Helped Carley & Carson Grow Up Without Abuse

When Rachel heard Carson beating up his sister Carley she froze. Carson was hitting Carley and calling her names. Carley was screaming, crying and begging him to stop. Rachel realized Carson was doing to Carley what Rachel's husband does to her. Rachel always thought the children were asleep when her husband went into his rages. Rachel ran into the bedroom and stopped Carson. She sat on the floor and cried, the reality of her abuse made her feel sick to her stomach. It was Rachel's wakeup call.

Rachel called us, afraid to contact the domestic violence advocate on the military base. We safety planned and eventually Rachel accepted for us to work with the advocate on base. Rachel, Carson & Carley are now home safe in the USA because of donations like yours. Rachel has a long way to go but they are safe, happy and Carson is not longer hitting Carley.

Here is a note from Rachel. "It was shocking to see my children as small versions of my husband's abuse of me. I realized I had to get out and back home for the sake of Carley and Carson. Thank you for being there when I needed you most."

We want to thank you so very much for helping this family stop the cycle of abuse in their home.

Wishing you love, happiness and prosperity this holiday season. The AODVC Team
