Danger-to-Safety Relocation for DV Survivors

Summary

This project will ensure at least 10 families and 10 single women fleeing a domestic violence relationship trans-nationally will receive danger-to-safety relocation and reintegration services.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

We serve American women & children living in foreign countries who are victims of domestic violence & child abuse, via an international toll free crisis line. Crisis line advocates work with victims, empowering them to make the decisions necessary to live a life without violence for themselves & their children while navigating the complicated system that hinders them from fleeing the violence and returning to the USA. We offer counseling, relocation, housing, legal assistance & emergency needs.

How will this project solve this problem?

We provide hundreds of battered American women and abused children with the information and services necessary to enable them to live their lives without violence. In 2008, the crisis line received approximately 1182 calls or emails and 363 families
