Summary
Youths in Bolgatanga Ghana, lack vocational skills and the capacity to become self-reliant. Unemployment is rampant. Most of them migrate to Accra and Kumasi in search of jobs that not existing.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
PAORP-VWC believes that unless those affected are provided with vocational skills, the number of vulnerable children in Bolgatanga Ghana will continue to grow. Our goal is to construct a multipurpose vocational training center with tools and machinery to be provided by Tools for Self Reliance UK where youth of both sexes will come in to learn skills to become self-reliant. Our training will explore local market for different trades in order to identify where new enterprises are required.
How will this project solve this problem?
4 Hectares of land has been acquired for the construction of the Centre
Tool for Self Reliance UK will provide tools and machinery for the workshops. This will take place by first half of 2010.
$55,000.00 is needed to put up workshops and offices.
Potential Long Term Impact
Unemployment and lack of skills to set up a trade/business to sustain life among youths will in future be a forgotten story in Bolgatanga once this project goes into existence.
