Summary

Youth Venture is a global movement that inspires, invests, and supports young people to lead social change.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

A staggering 51 percent of India's population of 1.1 billion people are under 25 and two-thirds under 35. It is important to create opportunities and platforms for these young people to realize their potential to create change. Young people are our most powerful engine for social impact and we have the responsibility to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge, skills and exposure to innovatively tackle the most pressing social issues.

How will this project solve this problem?

Ashoka's Youth Venture helps young people define their social change idea and create an action plan for it through workshops and capacity building. The ideas are presented to other social Changemakers and teams receive funding to launch their idea.

Potential Long Term Impact

The progress of a country depends on the number of Changemakers thrown up by the system. Youth Venture wants to drastically increase the number of young people who live the experience of being a Changemaker.

Project Message

Youth will make the difference to our country in the future and to change youth mentality and to encourage social entrepreneurship and responsibility in youth is one of the core tenets of YV.
