Summary
We are more than 950 volunteers & people with disabilities, wishing that one day, people with disabilities, will integrate into society.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
We create recreational activities that generate awareness & eliminate society's fear of people with disabilities. It is a logistic challenge to coordinate all of the voluntaries, the people with disabilities, & the staff. It is vital for our management & security to have the proper equipment & communication devices. We need equipment, such as: radio transmitters, megaphones, handy billboards & stands. If we can have this, everybody in Unidos will benefit, because we'll be safe & well organized.
How will this project solve this problem?
In Unidos, we make the dream of integration a reality, facing the society and making a statement “We are here, we are not weird”, we are part of the society and we have the same right as every body else to have fun in every place we can imagine.
Potential Long Term Impact
Our job is to make a positive impact in our society to provoke a change in attitude towards people with disabilities. To demonstrate the example of the Young Friends that interaction between able bodied people & those with limitations is possible.
