Water + Sanitation + Hygiene = Healthy Schools

This is the kind of water children take to schools in dirty containers, the water sources for these schools are very dirty and dangerous to drink directly without filtration. Many don't even have a drinking container and have to go all the way to the source to drink directly from there. These sources are contaminated by cows and other animals feces. That is what we are fighting for to brin in with Biosand filters to enable the children drink filtered water and reduce the rate of child death

In many schools in Kumbo and Cameroon villages, you will find many schools with no pit latrine at all, and some will manage to have just these kind of latrines, which are very dangerous to children, and are uncovered.Some children fall into the latrines because of lack of protection and well constructed latrines.

This is another school latrine, which is very old and the school doesn't have the means of reconstructing it, students use it even when it is collapsing from the inside, and this is dangerous to the lives of the school children. Many schools have similiar and some doesn't even have because they don't have the means to construct them

This is the new latrine LWDG-Cameroon constructed and replaced the old latrine above with. This is exactly what our objectives are, build a good hygienic latrines and make the environment hygienic for the children and school environment. This latrine has 5 rooms, two for boys, two for girls and one for the teachers. But because of lack of means,we would have loved to build more than five rooms to enable the urine section
