Summary
Each year in November a group GVI Volunteers, supporters and staff challenge themselves to scale 4 volcanoes in just one week in Guatemala to support educational projects across Latin America.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
To raise funds to support our Educational projects in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil participants in this challenge will scale 4 impressive volcanoes in Guatemala. This tough challenge will push people to their limit but the funds raised will live on after the aches and pains have healed and fund educational materials and scholarships for these children who would otherwise go without.
How will this project solve this problem?
Our projects in Latin America have seen great success over the years and we are very proud of our achievements but there is much work to be done, funds raised by this challenge help us to take larger strides in the field and push things forward.
Potential Long Term Impact
Education is the key to long term sustainable community development, the children we support today represent the hope for the future. We have already seen children on our projects move on to further education and opportunities before unknown to them.
Project Message
By doing the Challenge each year, we can hopefully reach the secondary school annual targets needed to keep the projects alive and growing well into the future.
