We plan to organise 20 short training courses on intensive poultry, sustainable agriculture and mixed farming. We shall vulgarise modern technologies to would-be farmers in 20 towns across Cameroon.
Violent food riots occurred in Cameroon caused by a global food crisis. Productivity is low as extension services are deficient. Most youths are jobless. About 40% of Cameroonians are suffering from hunger, poverty and malnutrition. Soil erosion and depletion is a problem. We will train mostly youths of 16 to 35 years and women in Batibo, Bamenda, Mbengwi, Kumbo, Nkambe, Fundong, Wum, Ndop, Mamfe, Kumba, Buea, Limbe, Tiko, Bafoussam, Baham, Yaounde III, Douala, Mbalmayo, Ebolowa and Sangmelima.
Printing of 2000 Poultry manuals and 2000 Agriculture manuals. Translate them into French. Organising 20 four-day courses. The training is divided into modules: poultry production – 8 modules; sustainable agriculture and mixed farming – 11 modules.
Technical know-how will be provided to 2000 persons who will be able to create poultry farms. Each farm may be replicated by 200 other persons. The project will solve malnutrition, increase productivity, reduce hunger and poverty then create jobs.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
