Summary

This project was set up due to an overwhelming number of children with multiple disabilities who live very hard lives with complications from untreated Cerebral Palsy, Autism,Malnutrition, down syndrome and other related conditions without the right health professionals to work on the children and these children were left to suffer or die. We work with therapists to develop maximum potential through provision of holistic specialized services in a home-like environment for new and old diagnoses

Challenge

Children with multiple disabilities in Uganda are suffering a lot with contractures, inability to sit or stand independently, others are too malnourished, others have low development, Cerebral palsy and Autism. These Children suffer a lot, especially when they are from very poor families. They don't get any treatment, and poverty adds more problems. Such children need early diagnosis and intervention which they hardly get. Their families also suffer a lot. They live very complicated lives,no joy

Solution

We want to bring the therapy nearer to the villages, by sending visiting therapists as well as having a center where Parents and Carers learn from therapists and other parents facing similar challenges We shall enable for the right social and physical environment by dealing with the limitations like knowledge, skills and attitudes of parents, carers and almost all of the other people involved. We shall facilitate for special equipment and assistive technology to improve the children's lives

Long-Term Impact

Children who are living in agony will get their physical lives eased with the help of therapists and assistive technology. Children with developmental delay,Malnutrition, Mental related challenges will have access to professional intervention and their future will be changed. Parents and families with such children will attach more value to their children and will love them. Everyone in the family will have more time to attend to other issues, other than "caring after a non-healing sick child"
