In Nepal's remote villages and rural countryside, many bright children simply don't have the opportunity to go to school because of their family's poverty. Yet, with an education, these children will be able to break the cycle of poverty for their families and themselves. Through Nepal Youth Foundation's Village Scholarship program, your donation of $100 is sufficient to provide a year of education to one of these impoverished though deserving children. Your gift will change a child's life.
Two-thirds of Nepal's population is illiterate; only 22% of the girls are literate. Schools in villages are grim with a high dropout rate. Schools don't have sufficient teachers; the ones they have are poorly trained, and schools lack educational materials. School-aged children migrate to urban areas to work as domestic servants or laborers. NYF provides scholarships to students because of poverty, to female students, to those from a low caste community, and those who are physically disabled.
The Nepal Youth Foundation is changing the future. NYF improves and builds schools, trains the teachers, provides education materials, and pays the scholarships for children who would otherwise not have the means to attend school. NYF caters to the most disadvantaged.
Help eliminate poverty; an education is especially important to girls. Once educated women practice birth control, can take better care of their families, and will educate their own children. Education is the only hope for Nepali children who would otherwise remain illiterate and stuck in an endless cycle of poverty.
Education is the only sustainable way out of poverty for Nepali children.
