This project provides an afterschool program to enrich the lives of inner-city boys and girls through classroom life lessons and on-field soccer sessions.
“The Outreach Program within SoccerPlus Education Center allows high school aged players from SoccerPlus Connecticut to coach and teach students within inner city elementary schools. Our program is built around Soccer Session and Life Lesson and the interaction between our club players and young elementary students when under the direction of a SoccerPlus senior staff coach is unique and special for all involved.” Tony DiCicco
Classroom activities and life lessons vary from nutrition, teamwork, dealing with bullies, diversity… Soccer sessions teach basic soccer techniques dribbling, passing, receiving, juggling with the freedom to express themselves with street soccer.
Increase graduation rates, increase self value, develop healthy-life long habits, encourage self-discipline and resilience towards adversity, develop life management skills, improve social skills, encourage teamwork and leadership.
