Domestic and sexual violence against girls and young women in Peru is a serious problem that has increased in the last 3 years. In 2013, were reported 14,837 cases of domestic violence against children and adolescents, of which 67% occurred against women; likewise, from 2,302 victims of sexual violation 2,117 were women, 92%. Data refers only to cases reported, and does not show the real magnitude of the problem. Therefore, the project aims to protect these girls against all forms of violence.
The program hosts girls and adolescents victims of family and / or sexual violence, and gives them a home with the necessary conditions for recovery. In this home, they are respected, protected and loved by a multidisciplinary team of professionals. They are provided with accommodation, food, education, values education, health, recreation and job training.
After the adjustment and recovery both educational and socio-emotional phases, project also works with girls and adolescents families in order to restore their family ties, if any. The last step of the project methodology considers family reintegration and / or job training, commensurate with their age and facing their future insertion in the labor market. After promotion, CEDRO tracks the developing of the family ties and / or job placement, possible by including institutional networks.
