Aid is stacking up in the sea and air ports in Miami, Houston, and San Juan with no way to get it to those who need it. Empact is sending teams of logistics specialists to ensure that this valuable aid gets through the choke points and into the communities of Puerto Rico.
Thousands and thousands of tons of aid materials; food, water, shelter, and medicine, are sitting in the sea and air ports in Houston, Miami, and San Juan, all for a lack sufficient logistics. Meanwhile, millions of American citizens go without the essentials of daily living after the recent strike of Hurricane Maria
Empact, in partnership with several other aid organizations, is sending teams of logistics specialists into Puerto Rico to ensure that these necessary materials get on the ship or aircraft, get through the ports, and get distributed to those who need it most.
The crisis in Puerto Rico is expected to last months, leaving millions without support. Empact can help support the long term recovery of the island by assisting in the management of acute needs so that the people of Puerto Rico can start thinking about rebuilding their island and their communities rather than where their next meal is coming from.
