Children of Guayaquil, Inc. is building a Children’s Community Center to provide a safe place for 200 Ecuadorian street children to receive education, stimulation, and opportunities for their futures.
Our project addresses the needs of street children in Pascuales, Ecuador who are left alone during the days without food, shelter, clothing, and without education. We are providing the infrastructure to create a safe haven for these children. They will receive education through partnerships with local organizations who provide stimulation to children up to age 6, while being protected from the dangers of drug abuse, alcohol addiction, and prostitution which plague the streets of Pascuales.
We are building a community center in Pascuales which will house educational and community building programs as well as help form partnerships with local organizations such as CNH and the Peace Corps who offer professional classes and workshops.
Our community center provides space for over 80 children to receive primary education and 100 students to attend elementary school. Library facilities will complement their studies and allow them the resources to continue to higher level education.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
