Millions of children across India would benefit; five languages would reach 25 million children. "Going To School" is making a series of inspiring mini-books in regional languages for children across India to be given away free. GTS requires support to develop books in five languages, test stories with children and print the books so partners (state governments/NGOs) can provide the books to millions of children. Each set of books in one language requires $2,500 to translate and test.
Translating stories into five regional languages, re-writing, testing with children, adjustments, flowing the text on the on the design templates, printing one small print run and talking to partners about providing the books to children free.
Total Funding Received to Date: $11,786
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $714
Total Funding Goal: $12,500
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
Children will learn more about other children across India and begin to understand each other. Also, the books celebrate school, so children will want to learn more. They may even attempt to read books they have otherwise found difficult.
