MIKE has been hard at work working with health teachers, and other community leaders, to deliver our Mentored Health Education and Healthcare Career Exploration Programming.
Traditionally the Mentored Health Education Program has primarily served high school students. This past semester, we successfully expanded programming to serve middle school students as part of MIKE’s planned strategy to engage youth in health education and mentoring earlier in their adolescence. MIKE has adapted and begun piloting a middle school-specific version of our program for students at Rosemary Anderson Middle School (RAMS). We plan to expand to additional middle schools in the coming year.
We are preparing to expand our summer programming after a successful pilot program last summer.
