Each year, many women die in childbirth in ONURA sub village Sudan. 99% of these deaths are due to lack of childbirth facilities and hemorrhage which is a common cause worldwide. Bleeding can be controlled in a clinic, but our aim is to provide traditional midwives a childbirth delivery bed to save lives in a local clinic where most births take place. This is also where most maternal deaths occur in ONURA sub village –well beyond the reach of hospitals and government health services.
provide safe motherhood services, antenatal care, deliveries, newborn care, postnatal care, family planningservices, and assist with home delivery through outreach services.
Total Funding Received to Date: $115
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $2,035
Total Funding Goal: $2,150
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
The long term impact will be the improvement of the health post facilities and also the increased knowledge of local health care workers who will be trained by HOPE OFIRIHA locally in safe motherhood practices so they can serve their communities.
Why does Hope Ofiriha works in ONURA sub village? – We continue because marginalization continues, we continue because we cannot turn a blind eye to the suffering of women, and children.
