The Project will provide 3 month food assistant support the vulnerable families who were badly effected in flood in 29 August 2011 in District Badin sindh. The likelihood of stock replenishment is very low, impeded by difficulty in access and slow delivery. Food assistance continues to be one of the main priorities, as many flood -affected families will not be able to restore their access to food in the near future due to the loss of their homes, productive assets and employment.
Our initial situation assessment indicates that in addition to shelter and clean water, food security is a high priority in the wake of a reported 343,510acres of crops being destroyed in Badin as well the loss of2,750 animals including livestock. The assessment confirms the widespread shortage of food stock among the displaced population and also in the local market, which is also attributed to the huge influx of IDPs from neighboring settlements. The likelihood of stock replenishment is very low.
