Dear friend,
You know what they say: "Time flies when you're having fun." A brand new school year has begun at Amún Shéa, and we're so excited about what 2024 might bring.
With more than 90 students enrolled this year, Amún Shéa School remains a beacon of light within El Salvador's tattered educational system. Located in the rural and historically marginalized area of Perquín, Morazán, Amún Shéa implements a problem-based learning methodology adapted to the reality of poverty, chronic underdevelopment, and limited opportunities. However, adaptation is far from the final goal. On the contrary, our ultimate mission is to create a transformed world with a new reality: one of hope, prosperity, and endless possibilities.
What might a transformed world look like?
A world where a young boy discovers new dreams at the turn of every book page as he sits under the shade of a pine tree.
A world where a young girl is on the trail of environmental contaminants while studying specimens under the microscope.
A world where students can play outside without the fear of gangs and unrelenting bullies.
This is the world that we are actively creating at Amún Shéa: a transformative educational model for all.
