This project will support 2000 children in 400 household to get food by providing training to their care givers in crop husbandry and support 100 other families to initiate income generating activites
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
HIV&AIDS prevalence in Kenya has subsequently declined in the last five years. National prevalence declined significantly from a peak of about 10% to under 5.1% in 2006. This trend is supported by data from national surveys which document changes in behaviour towards fewer partners, greater condom use and later age at first sex. How will this project solve this problem?
Training 500 caregivers who support 2000 children in food crop production, provision of farm inputs land preparation, planting and harvesting and value added production.
Train 100 care givers in small scale business ,provision of revolving fund
Potential Long Term Impact
1. This project will lead to increased number of meals per day in the caregivers’ households from one to three hence reduced malnutrition and school retention
2. Improved nutritional values of the meals in the caregivers’ households.
